Seriously, what girl doesn't love tulle?

I've decided my first blog would not be an introduction of myself. Rather, some random news. My second blog will be an introduction. How nice for everyone?

This past weekend, I got the opportunity to work with a very talented young photographer by the name of Ford Fairchild. It was an amazing shoot, and the first (hopefully of many) that I will be working on with him. He even let me take a friend along, which was something I found to be just wonderful in every sense of the word.

Unlike a lot of photo shoots, this one didn't feel like work at all. It felt like...fun. It was fun. I loved it, and every one of the shots that I've seen so far look incredible.

Random News:

Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Hot Hot Heat, The Fratellis, and of course, The Kings of Leon. I've been wanting to get my hands on some J-Roddy Walston and the Business, too. I like rock and roll that makes me want to dance.

Actually, I like anything that can get me dancing.
Some very good friends of mine by the name of Heidi Ervin and Brandon Gwinn have written a musical called 'Underwear: A Space Musical' and it will be featured in this year's New York City Fringe Festival. A few friends of mine (Courtney Cowart, Bethany Stollar, Justin Bourdet) have been cast, too. I can't even express how excited I am for not only these people, but everyone who gets to work on something at the Fringe. For us theatre-babies, it's a big deal.
Let's see...The Kings of Leon have a new album 'Only By the Night' coming out (their 4th) on Sept. 22nd in the UK and Sept. 23rd in the States.
On Thursday (7/17), VH1 Rock Honors: The Who. The Flaming Lips, Incubus, Pearl Jam, Tenacious D played and it airs sometime on Vh1. Fun times.
The Pink Spiders also have their (probably final) new album 'Sweat It Out' due out on Sept. 23rd of this year. I love those guys. Even if it's the end, I can't wait.
Mike, the guitarist for Incubus, has written an orchestral piece in nine movements called End.>Vacuum. He's been working on it for a year, and we all know it's going to be incredible. It will be performed live by The Graviton Modern Ensemble at UCLA's Royce Hall on Sat. Aug 23rd. For more infoon the ticket contest/internet presale please visit http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vaW5jdWJ1c3ZpZXcuY29tL21lc3Nib2FyZC92aWV3dG9waWMucGhwP3Q9MjY0MDY= and for more info on the concert, check out http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmVuZHZhY3V1bS5jb20=. Mike's also started a new myspace page for 'END.VACUUM' at http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LiBteXNwYWNlLiBjb20vZW5kdmFjdXVt. For those of you in the area, I'm not gonna lie, you're going to want to go see this in performance. You won't regret it, and if you do...I will personally repay you for your troubles.

Circa Survive needs some help with their efforts in trying to save Siren Records (who, even if you don't realize it, we owe something to), but I love those guys. So I'm going to remind you guys that you should go to http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vZG9uYXRlLmNpcmNhc3Vydml2ZS5jb20= and donate something to help Siren Records relocate, otherwise they're going to be shut down for good and that's no bueno. Anything you can spare would be appreciated, and in return you get the luxury of a free download of their new song 'The Most Dangerous Commercials.' If you're a fan of their stuff, and even if you aren't, it's worth it. Siren Records has not only been a huge supporter of indie music for more than 20 years now but served as a safe and positive environment for youth to go and learn about all types of art, films, music and literature.

Even if you don't want the song, but you still want to give, you can go to the Siren Records Myspace page http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3Lm15c3BhY2UuY29tL3NpcmVucmVjb3Jkc19lbGVjdHJpYw== and do it from there.

So come on, artists. Unite.

And one more thing, the singer of Circa Survive, Anthony is giving away free downloads of his new song 'Devil's Song' from his new solo album Avalon. Not only is this a total freebie, but it's also so INCREDIBLY good. All you have to do is go to his website http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmFudGhvbnlncmVlbnNjaGlsZHJlbi5jb20= and sign up for the mailing list
I hope this was random enough for you. Muah!
