Mr. Gaultier, I must respectfully disagree.

Tube tops for boys by Jean-Paul Gaultier.

one man's trash -

Guess what I did today? I worked. I love working, though. And I don't know what I'm going to do in three days when I'm off for an extended holiday. Today was very productive. We've been working since about 6 this evening(after shooting for 2and a half hours, thinking of new poses, no breaks) to decide which photos are going to be used in the new Legacy ads. No one knows. They even asked me which ones I thought they should use (and that almost never happens), but there were a lot of good shots. We're literally trying to choose from 140 photos for 5 ads. Simulatenously Hell Yeah & F-word. It's 2am now, here in Nashville. Don't forget that.

And I'm sick. As per the norm. The only reason they let me wear my wig is because I'm sick, but I'll take it. They were/are nice, and as you can see, it turned out alright.

Sascha Morello and Carter Donovan of Legacy Apparel are probably the chillest fashion designers on this planet
and they are exquisite and what they do.

Never ignore an act of mercy.
and for any concerned parties, when I say sick...apparently, I've irritated the ulcer I've developed while I've been indulging in wine-snobbery on the mean Nashville streets. My purple wig makes me feel better when I need a boost and my friends usually oblige.
Here are some of the photos we have to choose from:

And like I said, there are 140. Maybe I can talk them into letting you guys pick?
I'll let you know how it goes.
Your friend and lover,

Michael Jackson Fashion Tribute

I'm referring, in particular to Balmain's deigns, but to many others as well when I say that Michael Jackson has also greatly influenced the world of fashion.
I, for one, am grateful.

Michael Jackson passed away suddenly. June 25, 2009. I'm not taking it any harder than anyone else, but I do find it very sad. I grew up with Michael Jackson, you know? He's influenced just about everything in my life in some way or another. I know that's what everyone says, but that's because it's true. I also know that I choose to remember him as the great artist that he was and let that legacy of greatness live on.

As well as music, I especially (obviously) appreciate MJ's influence on fashion. He showed the world that it was okay to be funky, hip, and unique...a few of my favorite things.

And if that doesn't do it for you, maybe this will:

Rest in Peace, MJ

Read a pretty good fashion tribute here

BUT in unrelated news, there have been a lot of good things happening, too. I love working. There's nothing quite like getting paid for doing what you want to do. I've been working for 10 days straight with four to go before I get a day off. The benefits of this are many.
  1. ballin' in the bank account department. (this makes vacationing look better and more fun)
  2. keeps me busy. I don't at all dig too much down time. Down-time is the cause of a lot of people's problems in this world, including mine.
  3. a social life
  4. fancy clothes
love. xoxoxo

Legacy poster ad. Ooh la la.

Hola! I got to see the first poster for Legacy Apparel's line. They used two of my favorite photos from the shoot, and I'm thrilled to say I am not disappointed in the least.

It's pretty cool. Wouldn't you agree?

When I've got more to show from the campaign, you'll be the first to know. Until then, time to hit the pool.

Don't judge me for this, because it is what it is.
One day, you fall for this boy
and he touches you with his fingers,
and he burns holes in your skin with his mouth. And it hurts when you look at him,
and it hurts when you don't.
And it feels like someone's cut you open
with a jagged piece of glass.
it's like jumping headfirst into a river.
If it's shallow, you get hurt--you end up paralyzed from the neck down.
But, if it's deep...
It's like those carnival games. Some are really easy to win and some are really hard. It's the difference between love and sex. Sex is that game that everyone wins-- everyone goes home happy with that little prize. Love is like winning that game of skill. You get the gigantic stuffed gorilla, and it's so much better than that cheap plastic keychain.
I'm relying on Netflix, a good bottle of wine, and my parents' house in the country to keep me from totally losing my mind. I'm going to be working on some photos with Micah tomorrow morning. Eeeaaarly. I'll let you know more as soon as I know more. And in other, nonrelated news:

Legacy Apparel. My newest job.

I was recently honored with the title of Legacy Muse. For those of you not familiar with the Legacy Apparel clothing line, it's a Nashville based, ecologically conscious clothing line headed by the design team of Sasha Morello and Carter Donovan. Legacy specializes in reconstructed and altered fashions created from donated/thrift items. Legacy also boasts a cutting edge accessories line. Legacy Apparel strives to redefine the definition of couture utilizing the green lifestyle.

These are some of the prints from the shoot by the Micah Willis. I don't know exactly how they're using them yet, but I know that they are the pictures from the campaign. The pieces I'm wearing are as follows:
Legacy Lace bra in black, menswear capris in stone grey, menswear oxford in blue slate, wool short sleeve shirt in stone grey, Legacy Linen shorts in pea green, and sunglasses (from sasha by Sasha Morello for Legacy Apparel).

all designs copyright Legacy Apparel 2009.
